Animal Krackers was established in 2002 by Andrea Parkin and Susan Hardy. We became a registered charity within two years (Charity Number 1104787).
Since then we have helped many other rescue centres and worked in partnership with a variety of organisations. We have become well-known in the area and we now provide rescue services independently.
There are no paid employees at Animal Krackers and we receive no lottery funding. Most of our income comes from our two charity shops and donations from the public.
To obtain a leaflet about us please write to: Animal Krackers, 39 Windsor Terrace, Grangetown, Sunderland, SR2 9QF.
Ways to help
We are always in need of foster carers for our animals. Please get in contact if you feel you can help.
Our dogs love to get out of the kennels to stretch their legs. If you would like some exercise with a canine companion, please contact Phil Ripley on 0191 5518107
We are always very grateful to receive donations to our charity shops - clothing, furniture, bric a brac, books - almost anything is happily accepted and we can arrange collections if necessary.
Pet food bins are also available in some of the local supermarkets - please give if you can.
Financial support is, of course, always needed to help cover vet bills and running costs of the cat sanctuary and kennel boarding. If you feel able to give, please send a cheque made payable to 'Animal Krackers Ltd' to Animal Krackers, 18 Weldon Avenue, Grangetown, Sunderland, SR2 9QB.
We are always on the look-out for new ways to raise funds. If you have any ideas or are part of an organisation or business that could partner with us, please contact us.
Volunteers are always needed to work in our charity shops, get involved in our office or to help with the animals.
